These Are a Few of My Favorite Things: Mt. Washington/Glassell Park

Mt Washington apartments and Glassell Park rentals are smokin’ hot commodities right now. Why? We asked the Rental Girl’s Eastside leasing agent expert to name a few hot spots contributing to the general on-fireness of these emerging ‘hoods:

MT. WASHINGTON

  1. Southwest Museum. It has one of the most extensive and important collections of Native American art and artifacts in the world. In recent years, the Gene Autry Museum of the American West has taken over the operations of the Southwest Museum.
  2. Self Realization Fellowship. The world headquarters is located in Mt. Washington at the top of the hill and they open their estate gates to the entire community. Great place to meditate and to reflect.  There are beautiful gardens, greenery, and breath taking views of LA. This is a true hidden Gem in Los Angeles.
  3. Elyria Canyon Park. It is a 35-acre nature park that provides a glimpse into the native habitat that once thrived in the hills near downtown Los Angeles. The trails lead to vistas of the Los Angeles River, Griffith Observatory, and the city. Great place to walk with your furry friends or go for a jog.

GLASSELL PARK

  1. Polka Polish Restaurant. Local restaurant with delish food options! Great gourmet and traditional food. Be ready to eat a lot.
  2. Lemon Poppy Kitchen. They have a great brunch that is organic and healthy. All items are very affordable and I cannot describe how tasty the selections are.
  3. Glassell Park Swimming Pool. Very affordable neighborhood outdoor pool! You can lap swim and hang with your friends. It’s busy during summer days.

When moving from out of town, it can be very difficult trying to decide which neighborhood in Los Angeles to move to. “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things” is one series of blog posts brought to you by leasing agents at The Rental Girl to help educate you on the variety of colorful neighborhoods Los Angeles has to offer.
