Contact an Agent

Your trusted agents at The Rental Girl have guided you through the process of renting, and now they will navigate you through the process of home ownership. Finding a home for sale may seem like a piece of cake: just search online and visit open homes on the weekend, right?  You’ll be much better off with the help of an experienced agent to help you along the way. The Los Angeles rental market often mirrors the real estate market. Think about your experience renting: low inventory, a ton of competition, difficult getting through to landlords, multiple applicants, negotiating with the landlord… Wasn’t it a lot easier with the aid of your leasing agent? Yup, it’s very similar in real estate. So before you start your search, contact your local agent. Click Here to contact any of our sales agents and see what they have to offer!

Contact a Lender

We realize you’re excited about purchasing your first home and anxious to get on the hunt, but don’t make the mistake of skipping to step #3 before you have completed step #2. You may have already run some quick numbers on your own or through an online mortgage calculator, but you need to get pre-approved by a lender to make sure there aren’t any surprises. It’s not uncommon for first time home buyers to miscalculate how much home they can afford.  Your lender will run your credit and look at your income and tell you exactly how much money and what interest rate you qualify for. Search for a House

Well congratulations, you’ve done your homework. You’ve contacted your agent, you’ve been pre-approved, you have your finances in order. Now, you’re ready to rock and roll. Let’s get this search started! There are multiple ways to search for a home. Undoubtedly, your agent has set you up for automatic notifications when new listings hit the market. And she’ll probably be contacting you when she previews homes that fit your needs. But the modern day buyer does not wait here. Most buyers today are searching for a home online. There are some great websites out there to assist you: Redfin, Zillow and Trulia are a few in the major leagues. The great thing about these sites is that they are mega national websites with millions of dollars backing them. They are truly ahead of the game. Because of this, the technology they offer is so far more advanced than any of the local MLS websites. Even though all these internet home search sites get their listings fed from the local MLS (Multiple Listing Services), and so technically the information is the same, the way these larger sites present the information is unparalleled.  The majority of first time home buyers we work with prefer Redfin’s app. It’s incredibly functional and user friendly and the listings are fairly up to date. They have a great email auto-notify program and they offer access to a lot of information on each listing: sale history, listing details, photos, maps, and more.

No matter where you search, once you find a home you want to view, simply send the MLS number and/or property address to your agent and she’ll take it from there. Happy home hunting!
